Authenticity means to become your true self, someone who you already are without effort. As we develop into adults we change and move away from the authentic self as a default function. Defining the authentic self is complexly unique, each person has a truth this is different from anyone else. For example, if you are in judgement of yourself this effects the authentic self and instead maladaptive patterns operate as a mode of dysfunction.
